HOW TO PREPARE

Please dress in accordance with the respect this holy site deserves. You are permitted to bring objects of religious meaning, including a siddur, holy books or texts, tallit, tefillin, etc. It is recommended to pack water and light snacks as delays are to be expected during the 7-10 hour long trip. Light refreshments are sometimes, but not always, available at the kever. It is also advisable to bring a flashlight to ensure a safe and comfortable journey.

ARRIVAL & CHECK-IN

Upon arriving at the meeting point, please check in with our tour coordinator before boarding. Seating arrangements are first-come, first-serve and are strictly not gender segregated. We will gladly accommodate seating for individuals wishing to sit next to a member of the same gender for religious reasons if the bus is full, but we will not accommodate gender segregated sections on the bus. If you require a frontal seat due to a personal handicap, disability or other medical issue (including pregnancy, motion sickness, etc.), please advise us 24 hours prior to departure and one will be reserved for you. If you have recently tested positive for Corona or are otherwise ill and potentially contagious, please kindly refrain from attending in respect for the other guests. Please note the bus is not wheelchair accessible, but we will do our best to accommodate guests with limited disabilities. If you require special assistance, please respond to your confirmation email and provide us with additional information regarding your needs.

TRANSPORTATION & ACCOMMODATIONS

Once boarded, all guests must remain on the bus until permitted to exit at Kifl Haris. With the exception of a medical or security emergency, the bus will not make any stops and bathroom facilities will not be available. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Guests can access the Sonal gas station facilities nearby if needed, and portable bathrooms may be available on site.  The Kever Project reserves the right to deny transportation to any individual who appears or acts in a disruptive manner prior to, or during check-in as well as to contact the authorities during the trip in order to remove any individual who acts in a disruptive or illegal manner on the bus.

AT THE KEVER

Upon arrival, guests will have approximately two to four hours (or less) to visit and pray at the kever. Visitation and prayer is segregated by gender, and gender specific passages are accessible at the entrance. Guests must refrain from making any contact with the local Arab community or its residents and must not trespass or deviate from the path pre-approved by the Israel Defense Forces. Your cooperation in adhering to these strict guidelines is crucial for maintaining a respectful and secure environment during the trip for all in attendance. Guests must also act in accordance with the rules and regulations issued by the IDF while at the kever. Any guest in violation of IDF rules, or who causes a disturbance prior to or at the kever, will be banned from registering for future trips. You are permitted to take pictures or video at the site, but please refrain from posting to social media or making phone calls until after we have exited the kever.

DEPARTURE FROM THE KEVER

All guests must board the bus expeditiously when instructed to do so by the IDF. You may not board another bus from the kever in order to return to a different location. Please be mindful of your fellow guests and do not delay in returning to the bus when directed to do so. We can only depart once all guests are accounted for.

PERSONAL SAFETY & SECURITY

The State of Israel and the Israel Defense Forces, in partnership with the Kever Yosef Administration (which manages the kever), have secured our right to visit this holy site, and they are directly responsible for the safety of every guest in attendance. In the event a security situation occurs, do not panic. Follow the instructions of the IDF or administration officials. If possible, locate your fellow tour guests and remain with them in order to ensure each other's safety and/or expedite an immediate departure, if necessary.
